What’s new with Charted: A product recap for 2025

In 2025 the team at Charted was guided by one objective: eliminating manual touchpoints across the entire AP workflow. This product recap highlights everything we delivered: touchless invoice processing for routine transactions, international payments to 200+ countries, and smarter accrual automation, all native within NetSuite.

Invoice Automation: From manual review to touchless processing

We began the year by eliminating friction from everyday invoice processing. New features included in-line inbox actions and Save & Next functionality that lets you process your entire queue without returning to the inbox between bills.

Touchless Invoice Processing: The natural evolution of proven AI accurac

Invoice AI, enhanced by AI Directions, has proven so accurate that Charted customers find many invoices require zero manual edits. Finance teams increasingly found themselves opening invoices, confirming everything was correct, and simply clicking save. Touchless invoice processing eliminates that redundant final step by automatically creating bills for invoices that Invoice AI already processes perfectly.

This capability represents the natural evolution of our AI’s proven reliability:

  • Perfect three-way match: When invoice quantities exactly match purchase order amounts, bills are automatically created and submitted for approval.
  • Trusted vendor automation: Enable automatic bill creation for vendors where Invoice AI consistently gets everything right (utilities, subscriptions, and recurring services that never require manual intervention).

We also expanded Invoice AI to support non-Latin character sets, enabling teams worldwide to process invoices in Japanese and other languages with the same 95%+ accuracy.

Payment Automation: From fragmented systems to unified global payments

The Charted payments team transformed payment processing from system-switching frustration into a unified NetSuite-native experience. Payment volume more than doubled from January to December as customers consolidated their entire payment workflow within Charted.

The Ready for Release workflow received significant enhancements: additional columns, filtering options, export capabilities, and simplified exception handling. We know checks remain a reality (26% of B2B payments in 2025 still use checks, according to the Association for Financial Professionals 2025 Digital Payments Survey), so Charted supports both on-premise and outsourced check printing while providing a seamless path to ACH adoption through unified workflows.

The launch of International Payments represents one of 2025’s most significant milestones, eliminating the complexity of wire templates, bank portal logins, and multi-currency accounting.

Pay 200+ countries from one NetSuite workflow

We started with US-originating payments made in USD, then evolved to support foreign exchange:

  • USD and FX-enabled payments: Pay vendors in their native currency with automated currency conversion and competitive exchange rates.
  • Portal-free vendor onboarding: Use the same secure, streamlined process you use for ACH and checks. Vendors complete banking details via secure email link.
  • Unified batch processing: Release domestic ACH, checks, and international payments together from one Ready for Release queue.
  • Automated FX accounting: NetSuite handles currency exchange gains and losses natively with no manual journal entries required.

The true power is workflow integration: no more logging into banking portals, managing wire templates, or reconciling payments across disconnected systems.

Accelerated ACH: Same-day settlement for urgent payments

While standard ACH settlement (4-5 business days) works well for most AP workflows, urgent situations arise. We’re finalizing Accelerated ACH availability to cut settlement time to same-day for time-sensitive vendor payments. This capability will address one-off scenarios where payment speed matters—protecting vendor relationships, meeting critical deadlines, or handling urgent requests without resorting to expensive wire transfers.

Accrual Automation: Refinement through real-world usage

Throughout 2025, we focused on delivering targeted enhancements to Accrual Automation based on how finance teams actually use the product during month-end close. As customers integrated automated accruals into their workflows, we identified opportunities to make the experience more flexible and powerful.

We expanded account type support beyond standard expense accounts, enabling organizations with specialized accounting structures to accrue items that post to non-standard account types (critical for companies with unique general ledger configurations or industry-specific requirements). We also added department-level filtering to the accruals worksheet, allowing finance teams to review and create accrual entries by business unit for more focused, efficient month-end processing.

For organizations managing high-volume accruals, we introduced individual line offsetting options with enhanced audit trails, giving controllers the flexibility to structure journal entries according to their specific reporting requirements while maintaining clear documentation for each offset.

The result: organizations report reducing month-end accrual processing time by more than 50%.

Looking ahead

As we move into 2026, we’re continuing to focus on the same core objective that defined this year: eliminating manual touchpoints across the entire AP workflow. That means deepening automation capabilities in invoice processing, expanding payment flexibility and global reach, and refining the daily workflows that finance teams rely on.

We’re also investing in areas our customers tell us matter most with smart automation that learns from your patterns. Every enhancement will maintain our commitment to native NetSuite architecture, ensuring you never have to leave your familiar environment or manage external integrations.
